BigBendHealth.com has designed and implemented a Health Information Exchange (HIE) that is accessible through a secure Physicians Portal website. The HIE can be thought of as a community based hardware and software system that brings medical information together. The mission of the Physicians Portal is to offer a more efficient, private and secure replacement to paper, fax and phone communications between health care providers.

BigBendHealth.com has partnered with the Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County (EDC) and WORKFORCE plus to offer a better employment solution for area health care. The Careers Portal connects educators, health care employers, and health care job seekers.
The Careers Portal contains listings for hundreds of job openings that exist in the area's health care industry, plus details about each occupation and available local training to become employable. The largest private-industry sector in the region, health care is the third largest employer behind government and education employing more than 17,000 Big Bend residents. With so many of our young residents seeking employment outside of the area, this site will help guide them to career-path opportunities right here at home. Example services include:

A low cost Personal Health Record (PHR) for residents in the Big Bend that allows users to securely organize their basic medical history online for access by their physician and safe storage in the event of a natural disaster.
